Sous Chef Position

Job Description:

Our company is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual with a passion for the catering industry to fill the role of Sous Chef. The ideal candidate will be confident in the kitchen prep and knowledgeable about health department regulations. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking skills is also essential. Excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment are a must-have for this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen staff and monitor inventory and food supplies.

  • Supervise food preparation to ensure all dishes are prepared to perfection.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen.

  • Ensuring the Line and Prep Cooks prepare the dishes according to the Head Chef’s specifications and standards.

  • Ensures that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.

  • Minimize waste and keep costs under control. This can involve monitoring food usage patterns, tracking expiration dates, and making adjustments to ordering as needed.

  • Stay up-to-date on food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure that your kitchen is always in compliance. This includes following proper sanitation procedures, storing food at the correct temperatures, and maintaining accurate records.


  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules

  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

  • Food Handlers Certificate Needed

  • Job Type: Part-time
